When the 10 key number pad was invented many years ago, it did not have a way to delete your mistakes without going back to the main keyboard, which kind of defeated the whole purpose of having a separate keypad unless, of course, you never make mistakes. This photo shows the Num-Lock key along with the Num-Lock indicator light. The Num-Lock is a toggle switch between the 0-9 numbers and the arrow keys. When you press the Num-Lock button the red light above will turn on or off indicating whether the Num-Lock is on or off.

Some people care about the Bells and Whistles while others do not. However, in this case the bells and whistles are actually quite useful. There are three buttons located above the keys on the keypad.

  1. The first button has a picture of a calculator and pops up a handy calculator at the touch of a single button. This button will save a lot of time for accountants, data clerks, and anyone who has to crunch numbers on their computer.

  2. The middle button is a short cut to the "My Computer" icon. This gives you quick and easy access to all your hard drives, disk drives, CD-ROM drives, or any other storage devices you may have on your computer.

  3. The third button is a duplicate of the ESC or Escape key that is found on the main keyboard. This gives you a quite escape route for any high pressure situation. No, but seriously the ESC key is compatible with many accounting programs and it allows you to exist a screen or module.

Ahhh, The mighty Backspace Key. If there is one feature that I would have to say is more important than the rest I would have to choose the Backspace Key. The backspace key on the DigitPad 1500 allows you to do what older keypads only dreamed of doing. It allows you to erase the past. It allows you to fix your mistakes at a touch of a single button and without having to use main computer keyboard. If I have to recommend a keypad, I would tell all my colleagues to take a look at the DigitPad 1500 and if they don't go with the DP 1500, then at least make sure it's got a Backspace Key.

I just couldn't help but put a smiley face on the Double Zero Key. Now what exactly is the Double Zero key? The Double Zero Key allows you to enter two zeros at the touch of a single key stroke. For example, you might want to enter the number 100 into your calculator. With the Double Zero key you can press "1" and then press the "00" key and it will convert your "1" into "100". Now if you were talking about Dollars, that would be a pretty good investment turning 1 Dollar into 100 Dollars at the touch of a keystroke. Ha ha ha ha
